He was born July 20, 1946 in Clarion, Pennsylvania to the late Roy Irving Boyles and Mary Viola Hunsberger Boyles.  Mr. Boyles graduated from Clarion Highschool in 1965 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1966. He retired from the Army in 1986 with the rank of E7 (Sergeant First Class - SFC). His love for aviation continued in 1988 as an aircraft mechanic working on commercial aircrafts at PEMCO. He worked there until he retired from the company in 2012. After retirement, he and his wife of 52 years, found a love of bingo and raising and spoiling their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Prior to his wife’s passing he often referred to himself as “driving Ms. Daisy”. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend but most importantly he was the best “Poppy”.

Mr. Boyles is survived by his two daughters, Dawn Boyles Tipton and Sherry Boyles Edwards (Scott); his three grandchildren, Shane Butsch (Rachael), Schylur Edwards (Sydney), and Matthew Tipton (Caitlin); and two great grandchildren, Rosalie Butsch, 6 years old, and baby Katherine Tipton, expected late October 2021.
