SFC (Retired) Edward Charles (Ed) Ambrose, a resident of Ozark, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at his home. He was 82 years old.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Ambrose was born March 14, 1940, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Agnes Ambrose. He joined the United States Army in September of 1958, retiring in 1979 and serving one year in Vietnam.
In addition to his parents Mr. Ambrose was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Ambrose.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gudrun Machts Ambrose; two sons, Tom Ambrose (Evinc), and Eddy Ambrose (Sylvia); one daughter, Carol Ambrose Carr (Kevin); five grandchildren, Amber Powell Crooks (Shane), Aaron Carr (Ashley), Autumn Carr, Molly Ambrose, and Jasmin Ambrose. Three Great grandchildren, Landon and Layton Crooks and Finley Rose Carr. One brother, Vincent Ambrose and one sister, Georgine Ambrose Snyder both of Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Community Hospice, 368 James Street, Ozark, AL 36360.
