SHANNON OWENS BAINBRIDGE

MOODY, AL… Shannon Owens Bainbridge, a resident of Moody, Alabama, formerly of Headland, Alabama, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent’s in Trussville, AL. She was 47.

            Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday December 30, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Headland, Alabama with Reverend Ricky Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Headland, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M Thursday prior to the service.

Contributions may be made to the Alabama Epilepsy Foundation in honor of Gracie’s Momma, 3100 Lorna Road, Suite 311, Birmingham, AL 35216-5452.

Shannon Hope Owens was born October 29, 1974, in Dothan, Alabama to Robert W. Owens and Becky Parramore Owens of Headland. She was a 1993 graduate of Headland High School and was a member of the Headland High School Band as well as Junior and Senior Beta Club.  Shannon was a member of Headland United Methodist Church. She attended college at University of Alabama at Birmingham and Auburn University. Although Shannon grew up in the Headland area, she has also lived in Gardendale, Alabama as well as Auburn.  She married Michael Leon Bainbridge in 2002 and they moved to Moody in 2003. They had one daughter, Grace that blessed them in 2010.

Shannon is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Melvin W. and Opal C. Owens; her maternal grandparents Lomax and Juanita Parramore of Dothan; and her mother-in-law Betty Jo Bainbridge.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband, Michael Bainbridge and daughter, Gracie Bainbridge of Moody; parents, Robert and Becky Owens of Headland; aunt Penny Parramore (Zhenia Martinenko) of Lakeland, Florida; father-in-law Michael T. Bainbridge; her uncles, Tony R. Owens (Johnnie) and Charles E. Owens (Mary Ann) cousins, friends; and her special uncles and their families who served in Vietnam with Company A, 158^th Assault Helicopter Battalion 101^st Airborne Division known as the “Ghost Riders”.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Cleve Kirkland, William Parker, Spence Danzey, Gabe Shaver, Bobby McCoy, Joe Faulkner, Eddie Peters, Scott Whitaker, and Eric Knight.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will her special uncles, the “Ghost Riders” and the 1993 Graduating Class of HHS.
