ABBEVILLE. . .Sharon Doswell Salyers, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at her home. She was 75.


     Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 2, 2020, in the Shorterville Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend George Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


     Sharon Salyers was born and reared in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, daughter of the late Eddie Fleming Doswell and Ruth Hazel Summers Doswell. She lived in Kentucky and Shorterville before moving to the Brown’s Crossroads Community of Henry County in 2012. Sharon was a member of the Shorterville Baptist Church. She worked as a caregiver in home health care most of her adult lifetime. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie James Salyers, a son, James Dale Salyers, two sisters, Nellie Carr and Betty Rayphole, and two brothers, Elmer Doswell and James Doswell.


     Surviving relatives include two sons, Les Salyers (Sandra), Abbeville; and Patrick Salyers (Anna Marie), Ashford; two sisters, Zelda Watford (Willie), Hurtsboro, AL; and Cynthia Chambers (Eddie), Shorterville; three brothers, Charles Doswell, Cedar Springs, GA; Jasper Doswell (Sandy), Blakely, GA; and Darrell Doswell, Blakely, Ga.; a granddaughter, Christina Salyers; a great-grandson, Trent Yeater; a brother-in-law, Johnny Salyers.
