DOTHAN. . .Miss Shelby Jean Deese, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday morning, September 22, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. She was 74.



            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 24, 2012, in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Garner Wood officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday in the sanctuary of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.



            Miss Deese was born and reared near Columbia, daughter of the late W. Z. Deese and Minnie Jewell Brown Deese. She formerly lived near Columbia and in Webb before moving to Dothan in 2011. Miss Deese was a member of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Webb.



            Surviving relatives include a sister, Ruby Catherine Deese, Birmingham; a brother, Walter Deese and wife, Sara Deese, Columbia; a niece, Sharon Chandler (Brian), three nephews, Terry Deese, (Dawn), Larry Deese and Tim Deese (Heather).
