SHERWOOD  EUGENE  LAROCHE

ABBEVILLE. . .Sherwood Eugene LaRoche, a resident of Abbeville, died Thursday morning, May 31, 2018, at his home. He was 83.

            Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday, June 2, 2018, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Joe Vickers officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice, 3379 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL 36305.

            Mr. LaRoche was born in Murdo, South Dakota. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in 1952 and retired with rank of Master Sergeant in 1974 after twenty-two years service. Mr. LaRoche served his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was preceded in death  by his wife, Ruby Nell Helms LaRoche, his father, Earl LaRoche, his mother, Gail Vargo and step-father, Paul Vargo.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Susan McNamara (Paul), Abbeville; three sons, Richard LaRoche (Maria), Goldsboro, NC; David A. LaRoche (Bobbi), Letohatchee, AL; and Mark LaRoche (Karen), Abbeville; two sisters, Marilyn Porter, Alaska; and Carol Mooney, California; two brothers, Butch LaRoche, California; and Harlan LaRoche, Oregon; ten grandchildren, Michael McNamara, Rebecca McNamara, Thomas McNamara, Stephen LaRoche, Marcus LaRoche, Shannon Golden, Joshua LaRoche, Zachary LaRoche, Emma Grace LaRoche and Kandice Edwards; six great-grandchildren.
