Shirley F. Davis

 

Shirley Frances Viola Davis, a longtime resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Wesley Manor. She was 85.

 

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Mark Kocsis officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:30 on Tuesday night. At other times the family will be at 307 Pinehurst Drive in Dothan.

 

Mrs. Davis was born on July 26, 1926 in New Orleans, LA to Frank and Elizabeth Salathe Mehrhoff and lived the early years of her life there. She was a homemaker and a resident of Dothan for the past 65 years. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

Mrs. Davis is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Hiram B. Davis (formerly of Bay Line Railroad); two brothers, Charles Mehrhoff and Frank Mehrhoff, Jr., a sister, Betty Joyce Celino and a great-grandson.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Davis Shortell (Michael) of Havre, Montana; two grandchildren, Michele Osweiler (Mike), of Great Falls, Montana and David Shortell (Kim) of Marana, Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Mason Osweiler, Bryce Osweiler and Kayla Shortell; several nieces and nephews also survive.
