COLUMBIA. . .Shirley Smith Duke, a resident of Columbia, died early Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022, at her home. She was 75.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 23, 2022, in the Columbia City Cemetery with Pastor Vann Cooley officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Duke was born and reared in Houston County, daughter of the late Johnny Smith and Dorothy Henderson Smith. She lived in Columbia  all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her husband, James Randall Duke, and a sister, Frances McDaniel.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sheila Wakefield (Thomas), Columbia; a son, Lee Duke (Kelley), Covington, GA; three grandchildren, Mallory Geier (Jamison), Kolby Duke and Elisabeth Wilson (Blake).
