Silvia Maria Chiocco Villela, beloved spouse, dedicated mother, doting grandmother

and great-grandmother, age 70, a resident of El Paso, Texas, passed away Christmas

Day 2020 at Flowers Hospital.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Saint Columba Catholic

Church with Father Jim Dane, Pastor, officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project Gabriel, 602 South Oregon Street, El Paso, Texas, 79901.

 

Silvia was born on August 7, 1950 to Dr. Hernan Villela and Rosa Hernandez in

Ocotepeque, Honduras. She graduated as a Primary School Teacher from “Instituto

Oficial Juventud Hondureña” in Honduras and from Troy University.

 

She dedicated her life to help others as a Dame of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, a

Director of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Director of Project Gabriel in El

Paso, Texas and Sacred Heart Parish. She served on the Board of Directors for Villa

Maria, a center for homeless women. She continued to help her U.S. Embassy family

and the poor as a Family Liaison Officer with the U.S. Department of State and with the

U.S. Agency of International Development.

 

She is preceded in death by her Father.

 

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Dominick Chiocco; a son, Ralph Dominick

Chiocco, Jr. (Annabella) of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Grace Patricia Chiocco

Pérez (Stephen) of Collierville, Tennessee and Cecilia Maria Mathews Chiocco (Toby)

of Dothan; a brother, Dr. Roldán Villela; three sisters, Eva Maria Villela, Maria del

Carmen Harstaad Villela, Inés Zelaya Villela; eight grandchildren; two great-

grandchildren; and, several nieces and nephews.

 

Serving as active pallbearers will be Ralph Chiocco, Ralph Chiocco, Jr., Toby Mathews,

Nicholas Cedotal, Thomas Simpson, and Giovanni Divine.
