Steven Harrell Owens of Westville, FL, formally of Port St. Joe, Fl, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019. He was 63 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. (CT) Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Hurricane Creek Baptist Church, 1275 Hwy 2-A, Westville, FL, with Rev. Billy Locke officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 1985 Pleasant Ridge Rd, Westville, FL 32464, with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. (CT) until service time.

The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Owens to Hurricane Creek Baptist Church General Fund, 1275 Hwy 2-A, Westville, FL 32464.     

Steve was born on January 23, 1956 in Port St. Joe, FL to the late Everett Jr. and Mildred Louise Slaughter Owens. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and brother. He was affectionately known to his friends as “Skull”. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Steve was a graduate of Port St. Joe High School, class of 1974. He was employed as a pipe fitter with Arizona Chemical Co. for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judy C. Owens of Westville, FL, three children, Stephanie Davis (Allen) of Port St. Joe, FL, Mitchell Owens of Huntsville, AL and Sydney Stevens (Timothy) of Caryville, FL, three grandchildren, A.J. Davis, Ava Davis and Abby Davis all of Port St. Joe, FL, one brother, John Owens (Catherine) of Dothan, AL, and uncle, Lloyd Slaughter (Gail) of Panama City, FL.
