ALEXANDER  CITY,  ALABAMA. . .Sue Kelly Oliver, a resident of Alexander City, Alabama, (Lake Martin), died Sunday night, March 21, 2021, at her home.

   Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in the Headland Baptist Cemetery, Headland, Alabama, with eulogies to be given by family members. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Holman-Headland Mortuary. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Association of Alabama, P.O. Box 590146, Birmingham, AL 35259.

   Mrs. Oliver was born and reared in Headland, Alabama, daughter of the late Darwin Percy Kelly, Sr. and Jean Hamm Kelly. She was a 1958 graduate of Headland High School and served as “Miss Headland.” Mrs. Oliver attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, served as a Sponsor for the Army R.O.T.C.  and was selected as the 1961 “Top Corolla Beauty.” She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland and attended the Church in the Pines in Alexander City. Mrs. Oliver was a former member of the Junior League of Tuscaloosa. In earlier years, she served as a substitute teacher and taught Pre-School at Kiddie Kollege in Tuscaloosa and also at the Auburn United Methodist Church. Mrs. Oliver formerly lived in Headland, Epes, Guntersville, Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Chattanooga, TN, Memphis, TN and Clemson, SC before moving to Lake Martin in 1996. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathryn Jane Kelly.

   Surviving relatives include her husband, Bill “Brother” Oliver, Lake Martin; a daughter, Kelly Oliver Hill (Glenn), Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Bill Oliver, Jr. (Kim), Birmingham; and Brad Oliver (Felicia), Alexander City; a sister, Livy Kelly Masters (Tim), Headland; a brother, Darwin P. Kelly, Jr. (Myra), Maitland, FL; seven grandchildren, Hannah Oliver, Elizabeth Oliver, Oliver Hill, Samuel Hill, William Hill, Lexy Oliver and Brooke Oliver.
