Sue Upton, affectionately known as “Susie Q”, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at her home. She was 75.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Denise Peters officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Friday prior to service time.

Sue was born July 16, 1948, in Newport, Arkansas and lived the early years of her life in Arkansas and California. She was a graduate of Hoover High in Fresno, California and later attended Four C’s business school there. Sue was employed as a credit card customer service representative and a bank teller. She also worked as a church finance secretary and a medical office secretary. Sue was also a very supportive farmers wife. She has been a resident of Dothan since 1991.

She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Dothan Messianic Fellowship. She loved her church and was very active in both domestic and foreign missions which included Brazil, Romania, Haiti, Israel and South Florida.

She is predeceased by her father and mother, Troy and Stella Jones and a daughter, Wendy Stephens.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ron Upton of Dothan; three sons, Eric Stephens of Dothan, Steve Upton of Kansas City, Missouri and Craig Upton of Las

Cruces, New Mexico; three brothers, Mike Shelley of Madera, California, Dennis Jones of Pensacola, Florida and Vance Jones of Jacksonport, Arkansas; a sister, Debbie Thomas of
Batesville, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; her special furry companions, Chico, Nellie, Laverne and Shirley, as well as her rabbits and cows. She loved them all!

She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
