Susanna Renate Smith, age 82, of Daleville, AL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Daleville Chapel of Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

Mrs. Smith was born on April 25, 1939, to the late Hugo and Margarete Hertel of Mannheim-Sandhofen, Germany.         

She was preceded in death by her husband, CSM (Ret) John H. Smith.

Survivors include daughters, Christine Monaghan (Michael); Liane Sisson (Larry); a son, Rudi Hartmann; two granddaughters, Meagan Foster (Clayton); Melanie Monaghan; three grandsons, Brandon Sisson (Halie); Sean Hartmann; Matthew Hartmann (Samantha); great-grandson, Oliver Hartmann.
