ABBEVILLE . .Sylvia Tobias Sapp, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday morning, July 18, 2020. She was 87.

     Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. (EDT, Georgia Time), Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in the New Park Cemetery, Ft. Gaines, Georgia, with Reverend George Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. (CDT, Alabama Time), Monday at the mortuary. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

     Mrs. Sapp was born and reared in New Lebanon, Ohio, daughter of the late John Henry Tobias and Nellie Irene Brown Tobias. She lived in Ft. Gaines, Georgia before moving to Abbeville in 1986. She was a member of the Black Pond Bapist Church in Middleburg, Florida. Mrs. Sapp was preceded in death by her husband, James Luther Sapp, a son, Jerry Luther Sapp, two brothers, John Tobias and Joseph Tobias, daughter-in-law, Debra Sapp, sons-in-law, Tom Sawyer, Presley Beasley and Larry Corbin.

     Surviving relatives include five daughters, Gloria Lou Corbin, Abbeville; Dorothy Burinskas (Walter), Panama City; Joyce Creel (Ronnie), Dothan; Shirley Sapp, Gainesville, FL; and Ruby Johnson (Bobby), Abbeville; two sons, John Sapp, Abbeville; and Harrison Sapp, Troy; two sisters, Shirley Liffick Reed and Helen Esterline, both of Indiana; a brother, Herbert Tobias, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-greatgrandchildren.
