TED  SCOTT

DOTHAN…Ted Scott, a resident of Dothan, Alabama, died Tuesday morning, September, 10, 2013, at his home.  He was 75.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. (CDT) Thursday, September 12, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend Garner Wood officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. (EDT) Thursday in the Tallahassee Memory Gardens, Tallahassee, Florida. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. (CDT) Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Old Webb Road Baptist Church, c/o Amy Odom, P.O. Box 118, Webb, AL 36376.

            Mr. Scott was born and reared in Henry County, Alabama, near Columbia, son of the late Willis Gordon Scott and Rosa Emily Benton Scott. He lived in Tallahassee and Thomasville, Georgia before moving to Dothan in 2001. Mr. Scott was formerly employed as manager of the Wildwood Golf Course in Crawfordville, Florida, the Florida State University Golf Course, and the Winewood Golf Course, both in Tallahassee, and also the Country Oaks Golf Course in Thomasville. He was a member of the Old Webb Road Baptist Church, Webb, Alabama, and was a former member of the Seminole Baptist Church. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by two sisters, Lessie Spann and Ruby Kate Cureton, and four brothers, Calvin Scott, Cary Scott, Ned Scott and Luke Millard Scott.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Elwyn Johnson Scott, two daughters, Rosalyn Scott (Larry), Crawfordville, FL and Deana Hamil (Gary), Carrollton, GA; a son, Theodore G. (Tad) Scott, Thomasville, GA; a sister, Willie Pearl Carpenter, Columbia, AL; a brother, Mark Scott, Dothan; sisters-in-law, Helon Scott, Dothan, and Ellen Scott, Webb, AL; five grandchildren, Tyler Scott (Brittany), Karlyn Scott, Blake Hamil, Connor Hamil, and Natalie Hamil; one great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
