Teresa Joan “Janie” Godwin Traylor, age 83, a resident of Dothan, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Mount Enon Baptist Church with Reverend Don Tew officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45 am prior to the services.

Janie was born August 5, 1939, in Houston County to the late Bennie and Lounett Johnson Godwin. She was a 1957 graduate of Rehobeth High School and attended French’s School of Cosmetology. After graduation she was a cosmetology instructor and opened Janie’s Beauty Salon in 1968. She retired on June 24, 2005. Janie enjoyed word search puzzles, shopping, vacations, and spending time with her nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. She was a member of Mount Enon Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby Traylor, and a brother, Sherman Godwin.

Survivors include special nieces and nephews, Teresa and Richard Medley of Dothan, Lisa and Roger Cureton of Dothan; stepson, Mark Traylor of Dothan; cousins, Larry and Evelyn Hodges, Amerlis and Lafayette Thomley; nieces and nephews, Kala Martin (Josh) of Dothan, Brandon Cureton (Ana) of Dothan, Colton Cureton (Catherine) of Dothan; several other cousin, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Serving as active pallbearers will be: Brandon Cureton, Colton Cureton, Brian Watts, Mike McAnulty, Mike Reeves, and Duane Godwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Simplers Sunday School Class.
