DOTHAN. . .Theresa Calia (Terry) Nelson, a resident of Dothan, died Friday morning, February 17, 2012, in the Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center in Dothan. She was 98.



            A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A. M. Thursday, February 23, 2012, in the chapel of the St. Columba Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Gallagher officiating. A reception will follow the service in the St. Columba Parish Hall.



            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Columba Catholic Church, 2700 W. Main Street, Dothan, AL. 36301.



            Mrs. Nelson was born and reared in Cincinnati, Ohio and formerly lived in Illinois before moving to Dothan in 2005. During World War II, she was employed as a Registered Nurse. In later years, she served as a volunteer at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Delmore S. Nelson.



            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Joyce Nelson, Moreno Valley, CA; and Monica Nelson, Chicago, IL; two sons, Robert Wayne (Bob) Nelson and wife, Myrna, Dothan; and Brian Nelson, Oakland, CA; a sister-in-law, Marion Nelson, Bristow, NE; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.


             The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Extendicare Health & Rehabilitation Center for the loving care shown to Mrs. Nelson and her family.
