Timothy Eldon Knowles, 62, of Daleville, AL passed away December 2, 2021.

Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Rebecca; sons, Timothy Shawn Eldon Knowles, Jr. (Candice) of Whitehouse, TX and Raymond Gerald D. Knowles (Samantha) of DeLand, FL; daughter, Christina Ann (Knowles) Persails (Michael) of Daleville, AL; grandchildren: Justin, Brittany, Joel, Lexi, Carlie, Andrew, Jack, Gavin, Sophia, Emma; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Knowles and Tarry Knowles; sister, Tammy Johnson; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Knowles; mother, Noreen Knowles, and sister, Dianne Freeman.

Timothy was better known to his friends as “Nickelman.” Why you ask? His answer would be this “Because he had to be twice as good to be worth a dime.”  He loved music. Whether it was writing songs, singing, or playing one of the many instruments he taught himself like drums, lead guitar, bass, or harmonicas. He enjoyed a good jam session. It didn’t matter if he was alone or playing in one of his bands like “Nickelman & Loose Change.”

There was one thing he loved more than music and that was his family. His wife Rebecca was the center of his world. Working hard to give her what he could was what kept him going. While they officially celebrated 39 years in July 2021, they have been inseparable for 41 years. He always said that raising a family was the hardest thing he had ever done. However, he met that challenge head on even though he could have easily walked away. He took three children in as his own and loved each one beyond measure.

Providing for his family by any means necessary led him down several career paths. From being a truck driver and a correctional officer to owning Accurate Pest Control of Okeechobee (FL) for close to 20 years. Finally, retiring to Alabama but never really slowing down. If sheer will, determination and love were all that were needed to live he would have lived forever.

“Nickelman” was known for his animated story telling, voices, imagination, and just all-around silliness. Never meeting a stranger was his super power. Always making friends wherever he went and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

While he may have left this world way to soon, he will live on forever in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren and all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for a future date.
