Timothy Glenn Greathouse was born many years ago on May 9, 1959, before Doritos, donuts, cars, and cursive writing (according to Colton and Sylvia Kate). After a long fight God called him home November 11, 2023. He was born and raised in Enterprise, Alabama with his siblings Sandra Powell, Kathy Strickland, Ronald Greathouse and Joe Ed Greathouse.  He led a very fulfilling life with his wife of 44 years Christine Sylvia Greathouse. They loved to travel together and made many lasting memories over the years. He served in the Air Force for a term, and then they moved back to Alabama in 1985. Tim had a love for the Lord, his family, and sports. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church for 25 years where he served as a deacon and held many other roles. He also had a love for writing and has written a few books over the years. Tim had a love for sports and started coaching and umpiring in 1982 and has shared his love of softball, football, basketball, and baseball with many athletes over the years. He had the privilege of not only coaching his children but also many of his grandchildren. Tim and Chris were blessed with four children Timothy (T.C.) Greathouse (Tonya), Adrienne Hussey, Joseph (Joey) Greathouse and Katie Greathouse, who he claimed were all his favorite. He also has a son-in-law, Jeremiah, that he loved like a son. Over the years he was blessed with numerous grandchildren, Ethan Moore, Brianna Brooks, Annan Holland, Kyle Greathouse, Colton Hussey, Sylvia Kate Hussey, and many others that called him Pepaw. They immediately became his pride and joy. A grandparent is a little bit of a parent, a little bit of a teacher, and a little bit of a best friend. That is what he was to all his grandchildren. Although Tim has come to the end of his journey and he is excited to celebrate with the Lord, he regrets the milestones he will miss here on Earth. He wishes he could be here to walk Katie down the aisle, watch Joey and Katie have a family one day, see all his grandchildren conquer their dreams, sit on the porch with his wife, and continue to watch T.C. and Adrienne raise their families. He will also miss his many nieces and nephews and spending time with their families. Tim would like Chris to know this is not a goodbye, it is a thank you. Thank you for coming into my life and loving me. Thank you for all the memories. Thank you for leading a godly life with me and thank you for raising an amazing family with me. Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of eternity. It is not what separates us, life it.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Leon Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday  from 1:00 PM until service time.

The family would like to thank Dr. McAllister and his amazing staff at Dothan Hematology and Oncology as well as the amazing staff at Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.

Due to Tim’s love of sports, which brought him so many wonderful memories, in lieu of flowers we would like to make a donation to the New Brockton High School softball and volleyball programs.  Please contact Adrienne if you would like to make a donation.

You may sign the register book or send condolences to the family at our website:   www.searcyfuneralhome.com .
