Tolliver Nance of Ozark, formerly of Ariton, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 following a short illness. He was 86.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Holmes Baptist Church in Ariton, with his grandson, Blake Nance officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of his son, Rusty Nance.

Mr. Nance's grandsons and long time friend, Chad Hudson, will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Nance was born on April 22, 1925. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan. Prior to his retirement, he worked in the logging industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon and Junior Nance; four brothers, Robert Nance, Henry Lingo, Paul Grantham and Alf Powell; and one grandson, Chris Nance.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mattie Nance; one daughter, Patsy (Robert) Marsh; three sons, Edward (Rena) Nance, Ricky (Dee) Nance and Rusty (Renae) Nance; one sister, Mattie (Charles) Casper; grandchildren, Chris (Wendy) Marsh, Craig (Becky) Stafford, Angie (Chris) Folkes, Amy (Steve) Lloyd, Faith Nance, Amber Nance, Wes (Beverly) Nance, Leah (Zac) Gilliam, Derrick (Brittany) Nance, Blake (Kassie) Nance and Brittany (Nathan) Cedeno; ten great-grandchildren, Miranda and Anna Lee Marsh, Alexandra and Madison Folkes, Dakota Stafford, Aubree Nance, Ava and Levi Lloyd, Jaylee Nance and Emma Cedeno; also several nieces and nephews survive.
