S C Powell, 74, a resident if Dothan, Alabama passed away, Monday, July 21, 2015. 

He was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 until 1964.  When he left the USAF he joined the United States Postal Service where he served for over 30 years before retiring.  Upon retirement he and Barbara enjoyed traveling especially in the western United States.  In 2003 he and Barbara paid a visit to her sister in Dothan and never left.  After settling in Dothan he became the manager of the Cherry Blossom R V Park where he was loved and will be missed by all. 

He is survived by his wife of 51years, Barbara Powell; two daughters, Kimberly Powell and Debra Risch; three sisters, Helen Powell, Shirley Ridgeway and Ida Cook; one brother, Warren Powell, one grandchild, Melinda Sue Powell. 

In lieu of flowers and food the family request memorials be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Jerry Drive, Dothan, AL 36303. 

Service arrangements will be released later by Ward Wilson Funeral Home. Memorial service for Mr. S.C. Powell will be on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 11:00 p.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 1231 Fortner St., Dothan, Al
