VERLIN  FROST,  SR.

 

BLUE SPRINGS. . .Verlin Frost, Sr., a resident of Blue Springs, died Tuesday afternoon, January 10, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. He was 76.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 14, 2012, in the Shiloh Word Fellowship with Reverend James E. Ward, Jr. and Reverend Chris Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00       P. M. Friday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 473, Headland, AL. 36345.

            Mr. Frost was born and reared in Owsley County, Kentucky, near Ricetown, son of the late Harlan Frost and Ruby Mason Frost. He formerly lived in Connersville, Indiana before moving to Blue Springs in 1987. Mr. Frost received a teaching and engineering degree in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was retired from Dresser Industries in Connersville as a machinist. Mr. Frost served the Lord in the ministry as a Pastor and teacher and had also served as a missionary in Colorado. He formerly attended Shiloh Word Fellowship where he taught Sunday School and was currently attending Faith Deliverance Tabernacle, near Ozark.

            Mr. Frost was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Effie Frost, two daughters, Nellie Frost and Vicky Frost, a son, Verlin Frost Jr., a son-in-law, Marvin Sheplar and a brother, Mike Frost.

Surviving relatives include four daughters, Donna Sheplar, Blue Springs; Ranona Chasteen and husband, Nick, Blue Springs; Mary Elizabeth Perez and husband, Rex Ray, Skipperville; Kendra Fleming and husband, Curt, Shorterville; five sons, John Frost and wife, Beth, Richmond, IN; David Frost, Blue Springs; Shawn Frost and wife, Cheryl, Liberty, IN; James Frost and wife, Melissa, Samson, AL; Jehu Frost and wife, Isabelle, Ariton, AL; a sister, Sandra Duff, Booneville, KY; two brothers, John Frost and wife, Naomi, Booneville, KY; and Robert Frost and wife, Charlotte, Irvine, KY; a sister-in-law, Cathy Frost, Erlanger, KY; nineteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; a brother and sister in the Lord, Bill and Viola Browning, Brookville, IN.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be sons, John Frost, Nick Chasteen, David Frost, James Frost, Shawn Frost and Jehu Frost.
