Vicky Ann Vickers White, 71, died Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Peak Resources of Cherryville.


            A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday, February 16, 2024, in the Sardis Baptist Church in Abbeville. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of local arrangements.


            Born in Ft. Gaines, Georgia, Vicky was the daughter of the late John Travis Vickers and Patricia Hicks Vickers. She was raised and grew up in Abbeville.


            Vicky received her Master’s degree from Troy State University. She was an educator who was most passionate in helping her students in all walks of life. She enjoyed gardening, reading and cooking for her family. She also previously served on the Cleveland County Library Board.


            She is survived by her loving husband and life partner of 56 years, Bruce White; a son, Robie White and wife, Lisa of Shelby; a daughter, Leigh Anderson and husband, Hal, of Lawndale; sisters, Kathy Price of Louisiana; and Karinne Simmons and husband, Will, of Alabama; grandchildren, Samantha White, Ross White, Travis McSwain, Jacklyn White, Paden White and Brandon Abernathy; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Rick Wierner of Shelby; several nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Kari Dawkins; and special friends of The Depot in Lattimore.


            Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church.
