Vonda Velnor Bass Barton of Geneva, AL passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at her home. She was 76 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Connel officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Florala, AL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Vonda was born on April 6, 1947, to the late Clyde and Mamie Hayes Bass. She enjoyed working in her flower beds. She also had a deep love for people and animals. Vonda was a very talented seamstress who made many beautiful garments for countless friends and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Steve Barton; three brothers, Lewis, Clyde, and Vaughn Bass; daughter-in-law, Lynda Bunnell; son-in-law, Jim Walker.

She is survived by her children, Monica Loraine Walker of Evergreen, AL, Stephen Christopher Parmer of Geneva, AL, Stephanie Carol Sconiers (Dean) of Bonifay, FL, and Marvin Stephen Barton, II (Rose) of Ingleside, TX; nine grandchildren, Kane Sconiers, Shade Sconiers, Brandon Ervin, Amanda Ervin, Michael Chappius, Jon Bunnell, Alex Ramos, Brenda Flores  and Marvin Barton III; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Janie Boutwell and Rita White; six brothers, Wayne Coleman, Phillip Blackwell, Donnie Huckabaa, Mark Bass, Benny Bass, and Ron Bass; many nieces and nephews.
