Walt Loftin, 67, died Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Noble, Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Tew officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials may be made in memory of Walt Loftin to the www.bhbfoundation.org through PayPal or Venmo.

Walt was born July 21, 1953 in Dothan and lived there for most of his life.

He had the privilege of working with his family, who owned and operated Loftin’s Rent-All and Loftin’s Party and Wedding Center, serving the community for many years. More recently, he owned and operated Dothan Mattress Outlet.

Walt always enjoyed learning new things and that led to many hobbies. He loved to fish, race go carts, read Clive Cussler novels, watch documentaries, smoke brisket, ribs, and chicken for friends, compete in professional BBQ competitions, and he enjoyed using all his knowledge and experience to help people.

Walt made us smile, laugh and forget our troubles for a minute. His jokes may have gotten old but we still smiled and loved the moments of laughter he brought to the room.

Animals and children were drawn to Walt’s good nature, and he always made a point to talk with them first. He was a big kid himself and could make everyone he met smile and feel welcome.

He was preceded in death by his parents Grady Clark Loftin, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Loftin, and his brother Clark Loftin.

Survivors include his wife Melinda Loftin; daughter Kelsey Loftin; sister Susan Kirkland (Gary); and several nieces and nephews.
