Wanda Carol Brown

Wanda Carol Brown, a resident of Columbia, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, August 16, 2021. She was 73 years old.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Stuart Tullis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Wanda’s memory to the Webb Senior Citizen Center, 4095 Enon Rd, Webb, AL 36376.

Mrs. Brown was born on November 1, 1947 to the late Vernice and Frances Elrod Yell. Mrs. Brown worked for more than 20 years with Southern Bone and Joint Specialist and following her retirement would work with the Webb Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Brown was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She was a wonderful cook, but her chicken and dumplings, pecan pie, Gary’s special potato salad, and banana pudding were always a favorite with her family. She was a huge Alabama football fan, one of her favorite phrases was, Roll Tide!!! Mrs. Brown was a member of Honeysuckle Road Church of Christ for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Piggy and Pauline Yell.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Harry Lamar Brown; her children, Gary (Rhonda) Brown, Beverly (Allen) Arnold, and Amy (Justo) Perez; her 8 grandchildren, Caleb (Meagan) Arnold, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Brown, Blake Arnold, Julie (Eric) Rodriguez, James Arnold, Zachary Brown, Josie Perez, and Juston Perez; her 4 great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Brown, Eloise Arnold, Maddie Grace Brown, and Luka Arnold; her siblings, Barbara McNabb, Joan (Roger) Ledbetter, and Keith Yell; several nieces and nephews.
