Wayne Chason, Sr.

Mr. Wayne Chason, Sr., age 81 of Newton passed away late Tuesday evening, September 1, 2020 at his residence following a brief illness, surrounded by his family and under the care of Kindred Hospice.

Funeral services for Mr. Chason will be held at 11am Friday, September 4, 2020 at Memphis Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10am. Social distancing guidelines will be observed.

Mr. Chason was born in Blountstown, Florida on April 17, 1939. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Chason is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Chason, who passed away on August , 2020. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Peters and Cindy Norwalk (Tony); two sons and  daughters-in-law, Wayne Chason, Jr. (Kathy) and Joey Chason (Joeann); seven grandchildren, Crystal Wolfe (Richard), Jennifer Chason, Beth Meeks (James), Michael Norwalk (Rebecca), Tracey Peters (Joshua), Jonathon Norwalk and Hope Peters. Three great-grandchildren, Jessica Woodham, Katelynn Woodham and Kasey Meeks, as well as three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Charles (Tina) Chason, David Bell and Leon (Candace) Bell also survive.
