William Albert “Bill” Gautney of Samson, AL passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. He was 81 years old.

Graveside services will be held at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020 with Rev. Danny Branch officiating.  Bro. Charles Doty and Bro. Dustin Wise will assist, and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL will be directing.

Mr. Gautney was born in Gaskin, FL on March 19, 1939 to the late Lode and Lillie Churchwell Gautney. Mr. Bill had a passion for helping and serving people. He, along with his wife Sandra, owned and operated five different restaurants throughout their working career.  Once he retired, he enjoyed sitting on the front porch at the beach watching the world go by. Bill believed in hard work and was an excellent provider for his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Renee Gautney Wise and five brothers.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Sandra Gautney of Samson, AL; one daughter, Shannon Sasser (Lance) of Panama City Beach, FL; two sons, William Albert Gautney, Jr. (Annette) of Donalsonville, GA and Michael Gautney (Mona) of Samson, AL; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Eudon Gautney of Clearwater, FL.
