William Charles McGowan, 31, of Birmingham, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. 

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019, in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Bishop Lawson Bryan officiating, Reverend Hunter Pugh, and Glover Funeral Home directing.

Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org); 26 Broadway, 14^th Floor, New York, New York, 10004.

William was born June 10, 1987, in Dothan, to Stephen G. McGowan and Denise G. Hawke.  He was a 2005 graduate of Houston Academy and attended the University of Alabama.  He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.  William has been employed in the Hotel Industry in Birmingham for five years.

He is survived by his parents, Denise Gauntt Hawke (Michael) of Dothan; Stephen Glenn McGowan (Sharla Jones) of Dothan; a brother, Harris Jones of Dothan, and a cousin, Andrew Burrell of Boston.
