William Danny Curry passed away Wednesday June 5, 2019 surrounded by his wife and children. He finished the race well, fighting the good fight until the end. Danny was 70 years old. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 10 at 2:00pm, at First United Methodist Church, 217 Main St, Enterprise, Alabama. Visitation is in the church parlor from 12:30pm to 2:00pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org).

Born April 27, 1949 in Clayhatchee, Alabama, Danny grew up in the local area, spending childhood years playing with beloved brothers and cousins who have many stories to share. Danny always loved being outdoors. Best times were spent playing in fields and rivers, hunting and fishing.

Danny proudly served the United States Navy aboard the carrier USS Independence. After serving his country, Danny was hired in the telecommunications industry and worked for 40 years before retiring in 2016. In his spare time, Danny was always ingeniously working on projects whether it was for the home or making a gift for someone. He loved being resourceful, you could always find him in his shop. Danny had an uplifting spirit, full of laughter and smiles.

Danny’s children, Matthew and Allison, were welcomed into the world in the early 1980’s. He was a devoted father. Since their childhood, whether it was cutting an apple after school, or sharing the recliner to watch the race, he cherished every moment with them.

Danny found his soulmate, Kim Elizabeth Curry, 19 years ago. They began a journey of peace, love and laughter that centered on family. He was dedicated to raising and supporting five children, whether it was at the ball field, golf course, dance, cheer or church. Proudly watching graduations, weddings and grandchildren was his fulfillment. Danny’s legacy was giving of himself. He cherished extended family and lifelong friends, and each has been a blessing of strength and love during his illness.

Danny was preceded in death by his father John Ralph, mother Alice (Grantham) Curry and brother Dickey Curry. He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Elizabeth Curry, and children John Matthew (Brittany) Curry of Dothan, AL, Allison (Ben) Curry Chapman of Dothan, AL, Stephen (Stasia) Rush of Niceville, FL, Ethan (Ailene) Rush of Atlanta, GA, and Kaitlyn Rush of Washington, D.C., grandchildren, Caroline Monroe Curry, William Ladner Curry, Slater William Rush, and brother Mickey (Judy) Curry of Enterprise, AL. Danny is also survived by beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephew.

In the presence of our Lord, Danny peacefully smiles as he remembers all the prayers and support from loving family and friends during his illness. The family is deeply grateful to all of you.
