William “Billy” Dewey Daughtry

 

William “Billy” Daughtry of Columbia, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019. He was 63.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the chapel at Family First Funeral Care with Rev. Mark Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Columbia. The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, at Family First Funeral Care.

Born December 7, 1955 to the late James and Elsie Sellers Daughtry. Upon graduation from Houston County High School, he attended Bainbridge College obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree.   Billy was employed at Georgia Pacific as a Process Safety Manager, retiring after 30 years.  Billy met the love of his life, Jeannette Hughes. Billy and Jeannette were married in 1974 and were married for 43 years. Billy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother, James Daughtry, Jr.  Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Hughes Daughtry, two children, William J. Daughtry (Ashley), Tina Daughtry Anderson (Jody),  Survivors also include four siblings, Eugene Daughtry, Dennis Daughtry, Anthony Steven Daughtry, and Elise Armstrong (Scott); one brother-in-law, Ed Hughes (Shirley); one sister-in-law, Annette Lannon (Keith); five  grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews.
