William Lamar Shiver of Geneva, AL passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. There will be a private family service held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.  

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Devco Baptist Church 1008 Sizemore Highway, Geneva, AL 36340.

Mr. Shiver was born in Holmes County, FL on January 16, 1944, to the late William Lester and Foy Smith Shiver. Mr. Shiver enjoyed being outdoors, working in his garden, fishing, watching his chickens, camping, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, K.L. Shiver, and one sister, Floy Edna Bailey.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Earnestine Hawthorne Shiver of Geneva, AL; one daughter, Sandra Ann Hatcher (Butch) of Hartford, AL; two sons, Stevie Lamar Shiver (Stephanie), and William Clevie Shiver (Ginny) all of Geneva, AL; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Eugene Shiver (Bobbie Jean) and Louie Shiver (Rhonda) all of Geneva, AL; several, nieces and nephews.
