William Snell Reeves, 82, of 2941 County Rd. 9 passed away, Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home after an extended illness.


 


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Plummer and Rev. Murray Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, September 28, 2012. The family will be accepting flowers or donations can be made to Southern Care Hospice and the American Heart Association.


 


Snell Reeves was born August 6, 1930 in Houston County and lived his entire life in the Wicksburg Community. He was a graduate of Wicksburg High School. He was a farmer and former trucking supervisor for Warnaco. Mr. Reeves was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church and attended Bethel Baptist Church.


 


Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Shehee Reeves, parents, James Wiley and Bonnie Snell Reeves, and his sisters Claude Casey, Ernestine Casey, Ruth Ellen Hughes, and Jimmie Frank Boyles.


 


Survivors included his wife Betty Smith Reeves, Dothan: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harry Reeves, Dothan: Larry and Lisa Reeves, Dothan; a daughter, Cindy Reeves (Arthur), Dothan; stepdaughter  Sharon Creel (Steve), Birmingham; Johanna Daniels,; 7 grandchildren, Ashleigh Reeves, Dothan; Aaron Reeves (Lauren) Huntsville, Kaelyn Reeves, Dothan; Kelli Hulvey (Justin), Midland City; Kyle Baker, Kip Baker and Cole Redmon, Dothan; Step granddaughters; Devin Creel, Kaitlyn Creel, and Johanna Daniels 3 great grandchildren, Kyla Baker, Adalyn Baker, Grayson Hulvey, and one very special little friend, Laney Rice, who called him “HoHo”.


 


Serving as active pallbearers will be Aaron Reeves, Kyle Baker, Mike Boyles, Bob Boyles, Max Snell and James Andrews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Casey, Wayne Simms and Steve Creel.


 


The Reeves family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff of Southern Hospice Care for the exceptional and loving care provided to our Dad.
