William Thomas Baxley of Leonia, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his home. He was 90 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Leonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dale Paul officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leonia Cemetery fund at Leonia Baptist Church, 1124 Gillman Road, Westville, FL 32464.

Mr. Baxley was born August 4, 1928 in Leonia, FL. He served in three branches of the military including active duty during World War II and the Korean War. He worked many years as a mechanic and was known for being able to fix anything. He enjoyed hunting, wood working, and gardening, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will and Emma Baxley; his mother, Nettie Baxley; two brothers, Willard and Dwight Lee; one sister, Norma Lee.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Laura Mae Baxley of Leonia, FL; one son, Melvin Gordon Baxley (Janet); one daughter, Gail Brooks all of Leonia, FL; eight grandchildren, Ty Clark, Paula Clark, Daniel Clark, Letha Hinote, Caleb Baxley, Jessica Ealum, David Michael Brooks, and Wendy Carroll; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oral Lee (Judy), and Freddy Lee (Nita).
