William Wakefield passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Flowers Hospital. He was 86 years old.

Funeral services will be held at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Slocomb City Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Wakefield of Hartford; children, Neal Mitchem (Martha) of Slocomb, Sonja Crowell of Dothan, Jay Dean (Stephanie) of Ashford, Crystal Kelly (Allen) of Pansey, Tylor Mitchem (John Inman) of Hartford, Erin Blankenship (Chand) of Hartford, and Tony Dean of Mobile; grandchildren, Cody Mitchem, Kasie Mitchem, Colton Mitchem, Brent Kelly, Zander Kelly, Jayden Dean, Jace Dean, Destiney Mashburn, Zack Mashburn and Toni Dean; great grandchildren, Easton Mashburn, Isabella Dean, and Ryker Mitchem.

Serving as pallbearers: Zander Kelly, Brent Kelly, Tylor Mitchem, Cody Mitchem, Colton Mitchem, John Inman, and Jace Dean.
