ABBEVILLE. . .William Wilson “Bill” Capps, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday, August 25, 2023, at his home. He was 78.

            A private burial was held in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations was in charge of arrangements.

            Bill Capps was born and reared in the Capps Community of Henry County. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School and served his country in the Army National Guard. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Howard Paul Capps, his mother, Dorothy Wilson “Dot” Capps Culpepper and his step-father, Hubert Culpepper.

            Surviving relatives include two sons, three sisters, Nan Capps Mattox, Carol Capps Beasley and Donnie Capps.
