Willie Jo Eason (Aunt Jo) was born August 1, 1933 to the late William Joseph Eason & Myrtie Lee Maloy Eason. On April 20, 2021 at age 87 she passed peacefully in her home from this life to be with Jesus and her family already in heaven. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ann Peacock and brother-in-law, Ray Peacock. The best we can calculate Ann and Jo lived together all but 17 years of Jo’s 87. For her niece, Lisa Donaldson and her family it was like having an extra mama & grandma.

Aunt Jo is survived by one brother, James and Mary Eason of Samson, AL; one sister, Nettie Maloy (and Bill deceased) of Daphne, AL, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Aunt Jo worked at the Samson Dime Store (V.J. Elmore) when she was younger and then worked for Van Heusen at the factory in Geneva for 45 years. When she was able, she always loved working in her flower beds, cooking, and crocheting. Her family’s favorites were her chicken dressing and chocolate pudding. She loved to read her bible every night before bed and kept a bookmark so she could pick up in the right spot the next night. The last scripture Lisa read to her was 1 John, chapter one. She enjoyed going to church, to the Samson Senior Center, and out to eat at our local cafes. She loved her family and would never say anything bad about anyone. She will be missed!

The family would like to say thank you to Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home for your care of our loved one. Also, thank you to Dr. Hayden Childs and his staff, the staff at Kindred Home Health of Geneva and the staff of Southern Care Hospice of Enterprise for all your kind help. The family will hold a memorial service for Jo at a later date. If you would like to, you may honor her life with a donation in her memory to Camp Victory, 363 Victory Circle, Samson, AL  36477.
