WILLIE PEARL WILLIAMS

ASHFORD, AL… Willie Pearl Williams, a resident of Ashford, Alabama, passed away Wednesday morning, December 28, 2022, at her home. She was 88.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Enon Church of Christ, in Webb, Alabama, with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in Mrs. Williams honor to the Enon Church of Christ, 241-89 Johnnie Ingram Road, Webb, Alabama 36376, or to a favorite charity.

Mrs. Williams was born in Ashford, Alabama to the late Bunyan Lester Roney and Mary Lizzie Helms Roney. She lived her entire life in the Ashford, Alabama area. She was a graduate of Ashford High School and Riley School of Business. She was retired as a court magistrate with the State of Alabama. In her earlier years she loved playing softball. She was one of the players of the 1^st Ashford Women League Softball team. She also enjoyed being in a Gospel Quartet, where she played the piano by ear. She was very active at Enon Church of Christ, in which her parents were the founding members. She loved to cook and taught her grandkids the love of baking. She loved her grandkids very much. She even called them the “Beat of Heart”.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Williams; her sister, JoAnn Kilgore; and her brother-in-law, Gilbert Kilgore.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Valarie Savage (Ed Sullivan) and Denise Cameron (John); her grandchildren, Carmen Tavares, Kasey Savage, Adam Knox, Clay Cameron (Jen Ricketts), and Cody Cameron (Kinley Johnson); her great-grandchild, Logan Hardbower; her nephew, Michael Kilgore (Elaine); and her niece, Cindy Moore (Tim).
