Willie Ruth Vaughan Forsythe, a resident of Bonifay, Florida went home to her heavenly father on Thursday, May 27th 2021, at her home. She was 88 years old. 


 


Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Monday, May 31st, 2021 at Mt. Ida Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. 


 


Ruth was born on April 14th 1933 in Holmes County Florida to the late Charlie Clark and Emma Lee Smith Vaughan. In her youth, she worked in the tobacco fields alongside her family. She married at the tender age of 16. Ruth had a very giving heart and would give anything she had to anyone in need. Ruth was not only a caring person but very intelligent. She worked as a Senior Manager at multiple apartment complexes as well as earning a Real Estate license in the state of Texas. She enjoyed reading. She loved to write poetry and was very strong in her Christian faith. She loved to play basketball and would “get after it” to score a point. Ruth had a beautiful smile and shared it with everyone she knew. She will always be remembered for this. 


 


Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Theodore Forsythe Sr., her siblings, James Lee Vaughan, Charlene Hawthorne, Johnny Charles Vaughan, Cumi Vaughan and Eudene Hughes. 


 


Survivors include her children Herbert Theodore “Ted” Forsythe Jr. of Bonifay, Florida, Gregory Bruce Jerkins of Arizona and Linda Lapointe of Bonifay, Florida, one brother, Posie Vaughan of Westville, Florida, one sister Rachel Heath of Pensacola, Florida, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
