WILMA  KIRKLAND  BULLARD

ABBEVILLE. . .Wilma Kirkland Bullard, a resident of Abbeville, formerly of Eufaula,  died late Monday night, August 12, 2013. She was 87.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in the Oakey Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the God’s Way Baptist Church, 271 Pleasant Hill Road, Eufaula, AL 36027 or to the Oakey Grove Baptist Church, c/o Winnie Murray, 1043 Columbia Road, Abbeville, AL 36310.

            Mrs. Bullard was born and reared in the Oakey Grove community of Henry County, daughter of the late Alvie Luke Kirkland and Wildie Dee Mims Kirkland. She formerly lived in Birmingham and Eufaula. Mrs. Bullard was an active member of the God’s Way Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Dewey Bullard, a daughter, Olivia Holloway, and two brothers, Elliotte Kirkland and Donald Kirkland.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Susan Cotton and husband, George Cotton, Jr., Abbeville; two sons, George A. Bullard, Eufaula; and Dennis Bullard and wife, Amy, Birmingham; two sisters, Joyce Shelley, Dothan, formerly of Abbeville; and Sue Massey, Fayetteville, NC; a brother, Harold Kirkland and wife, Mary, Franklin, SC; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren.
