John Winston Shiver age 85, a resident of Jack, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Medical Center Enterprise. Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, March 20, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM with Rev. Hubert McWaters officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Pleasant Ridge Primitive Baptist Church on Saturday, March 20, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or those wishing to make memorials are ask to do so to the Pleasant ridge Cemetery Fund, 4408 County Road 223, Elba, Alabama 36323.

Mr. Shiver leaves behind his Wife - Betty Shiver, Jack, AL, Step-Son - Tommy (Mavis) Greenwood, Opp, AL, Step-Daughter Sharon (Sam) Turner, Dothan, AL, Step-Son - Joseph D. "Buddy" (Kristi) Garrett, Pensacola, FL, Step-Son - Larry M. (Laura) Garrett, Jacksonville, FL, and Step-Daughter - Patricia (Marvin) Glass, Jack, AL. He also leaves behind a  special granddaughter he raised, Bridget (Shane) Johnston, Ariton, AL, a Sister - Erma (Joe) Green, Jack, AL, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by Wife - Ruby Shiver; Daughter - Judy Greenwood; Daughter - Kathy (Neal) Davis; Parents- Grace Goodson Shiver and Audrey Dean Shiver, as well as a Sister - Thelma Kelley, a Brother - Douglas Shiver, and a Nephew, Tommy Modlin.
