A Monumental Offense

I have always ob jected to the auspices of the 'politically correct'. I find the practice to be something of a straight jacket for freedom of speech. There are too many valid opinions that are kept silent for fear of rendering an offense to some timid and fragile American. Clearly I do not subscribe to such and un-American disposition. I am appalled and outraged by the desecration, removal, defacement and denigration of Civil War articles of history. These monuments do not represent, celebrate, or honor racism and slavery. It is difficult to fathom that people with wrong mindsets are seemingly being allowed to re-write history as they see fit. The Confederate flag is being compared to the Nazi Flag of Germany. A mind that could even think to make that comparison is corrupt. Under Hitler's flag, ten's of millions of people were killed as his purpose was to annihilate people who fell short of his idea of a superior race. It's an insult and and I am monumentally offended.
